I enjoy long walks on the beach, watching the sunset from a picturesque grassy knoll, indulging in fine wine, and watching French films. …Er…wait…that was intended for my other web site…

About Me
I like to be silly sometimes. Laughter is good for the soul. Let’s face it; This world is messed up. If we don’t laugh from time to time, we have little worth living for. Speaking of living, I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life. I’ve done a lot of bad things. I’ve also had a lot of bad things happen to me. I’ve made countless financial mistakes, I’m divorced, I had a bout with cancer when I was just 22 years old, I’ve been laid off three times, and have been fired once. Through it all, God has been my rock, my source of stability, reason, and grace. I am far from perfect, but I have learned many lessons through all my experiences, lessons that I’d like to share with you through this blog.

About NoisyStreets
I started NoisyStreets years ago as a web site dedicated to discussing “Truth” with a capital “T”. It was originally a social networking site, kinda like Facebook. It turned out that the general Internet community wasn’t interested in discussing Truth. Some people liked arguing about Truth, but that’s not necessarily what I had in mind. So, what’s left of that site is this blog, a collection of stories that I want to share with the world. Except for the direct quotes from the Holy Bible, I don’t consider any of my stories as Truth. Well, certainly, some elements of my stories are Truth, but other parts are just my thoughts or descriptions of my experiences. In any case, I hope that in reading my blog you learn something about me, but, more importantly, I hope you learn something about the Bible and the God that wrote it.

Truth with a Capital “T”

“Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other.” ~Ecclesiastes 3:19a NIV

Whether we like it or not, there is only one Truth. Either God exists or He doesn’t. Either humans go to another place after they die or they don’t. Either humans are accountable to a higher being or they aren’t. I believe that absolutes do exist. Math and Science provide immense evidence for this. Math and Science are based on predictability, structure, and reproduce-ability. Without absolutes like 2+2=4 and e=mc2, all of Science and Math would be meaningless, a chasing after the wind. There’s much I can say about this, suffice to say that my understanding of absolutes in nature have lead me to conclude that there is an Intelligent Designer who created all that we can see and touch, and that that entity is the same one who has revealed Himself through both His creation and the Bible.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. ~Romans 1:20 NIV

The Bible claims to be the ultimate source of Truth. That’s a hefty claim, but I happen to believe it. Even if you don’t agree with me, for any reason, I hope you will at least find some value in having your notion of Truth challenged and stretched. If one of my stories causes you to see life a bit differently, I will consider that a success.

Happy reading!
